Five Years & Beyond

Today marks five years of being The Misunderstood Afro Muslimah! Blogging has been a fantastic journey that I never saw for myself. When I first began blogging, I was going with the flow and had no idea what I was doing! I just let the words in my heart and mind lead the way. I am internally grateful for my fifth blogiversary because I know my blog saved my life.

Each year I have grown and gained confidence in my work. My blog has expanded its content; along with sharing my experiences, I also work with various movie production companies and publicists to review movies and books! I have participated in outstanding campaigns to correct the ignorant stereotypes about Muslim Women internationally. My blog is now a multimedia platform! I have started to create videos to match my words. I am excited about all the growth and can’t wait to see where my blog will be five years from now! I spent too much time downplaying my success and the work I put into my blog, and those days are over.

Most importantly, thank you! Throughout the years I have received so much love and support! I love that I have had the opportunity to connect with so many people globally. I am eternally grateful for every like, comment, share, and follow I have received; still amazed when I receive a notification. The best part about blogging is speaking and connecting with y’all!

Mash’Allah, I am incredibly blessed and grateful. Well, y’all, five years down and a lifetime to go. As I mature and go through life, so will my blog. I am The Misunderstood Afro Muslimah, and I have plenty more to say!
