As we know, I love A Million Miles Away and have taken sharing my opinions to the next level! I have had the pleasure of speaking with Jose Hernandez, whose life inspired the movie! We sat down to virtually spill the tea, and Jose dropped so many gems. Hearing his thoughts on the film and the tea behind some of my favorite scenes was incredible, and I cannot wait to rewatch the movie!
Like I said in my review, I love a good love story, and José and Adele’s did not disappoint. It was the cherry on top of the sundae of a perfect inspirational movie. Watching A Million Miles Away and witnessing the love story unfold is magical because Adela is vital to José’s success in a true partnership. It was beautiful to hear from José how the first date and courting process went with his future in-laws.
It was the confirmation I needed. Reaching the stars is even more rewarding when you have love to celebrate with you. I find it endearing that his first date with Adela was more nerve-racking than submitting his Space Program application in person. Honestly, that is a life lesson in itself. If you have the love and support, go after your dreams fearlessly, regardless of the outcome, because you’re still beyond blessed at the end of the day.
It was a pleasure and a dream come true speaking with José. He is so kind and inspiring, and something he said I keep replaying in my mind. “It’s good to surround yourself with people where you’re not afraid to share your dreams.” Clearly, he is wise. He’s literally reached the stars, and I am honored to officially be a part of the family!
