Once again, I’m on the front lines, and my opinions have been called upon. I realize this is my third military review, but what can I say? I genuinely love them, and The Blue Angels is no exception.

As much as I enjoyed the film, it is long and redundant. I don’t think this film is the right fit if you aren’t interested in the military, aviation, or related fields. But with that being said, I recommend the movie because there’s something magical about watching people defeat the odds and achieve their goals. I know that by the end of the film, I felt reignited.

The US Navy commands 3,700 combat-ready fighters globally, six of whom are with The Blue Angels. This movie provides unique and detailed insight into the selection process, training, and origins of The Blue Angels, offering a wealth of information for those interested or, at the very least, fabulous fun facts to know.
“Never get comfortable in a routine.”
Although the movie focuses on The Blue Angels, it offers excellent life lessons. Throughout the film, I reflected on my life and where I first felt inspired, ironically, at a military event in high school. My love for the military started with my father, but that was the first time I set an ultimate goal of being fearless. This movie reminded me of that and gave quotes to help me get through this healing journey to get back on my feet.
“If you don’t have the right foundation, it’s just not going to work.”
Now, we all know I love a good love story, and behind the scenes of an entire operation, this film provided both. In addition to pageantry, I saw how the execution of a beautiful show works! We often think of a love story between people, but this is watching people fall in love with a dream and, despite the odds, accomplish that dream. As I said, it’s magical.
The Blue Angels will be streaming on Prime Video on May 23, 2024. Check it out; at the very least, you may feel some magic or inspiration. The movie reinforced a quote from my favorite Marine,
“Keep your head on swivel.”
