Quarantine Days

I can’t believe all this time in the house, and I’ve barely written anything. I have many notes and ideas scribbled down but haven’t written a post. So, I’ll just tell y’all what I have been up to.

I decided to go home and spend the stay-at-home order with my parents and younger brother, which has pros and cons. For the most part, it’s been excellent, and I am enjoying my time at home. I don’t, however, enjoy hiding food from my hungry hippo of a teenage brother who eats everything in sight. I’m incredibly territorial, so I pick the food out for myself. I feel this internal rage when someone else eats it, but then I must remember I didn’t actually pay for it, so I calm my broke self down.

I have drastically increased my daily water intake to reduce my desire to snack and just eat out of boredom throughout the day. As a result, I can officially put peeing as one of my hobbies; it’s crazy!

Since the gyms closed, I’ve been trying to keep active. Not only did I increase my water, but I have been eating relatively healthy. I still indulge in some comfort food, but I haven’t been eating out, and I’ve been cooking all of my meals. So I decided to become my little brother’s personal trainer, and I made him work out with me every day for at least 30 min. When it’s nice outside, we do the workouts in the backyard; I know he’ll be grateful one day, even though now all I get is complaints and backtalk. I love this bonding time I get to spend with him, and I will miss it when life returns to normal.

I have binge-watched so many shows and re-watched every Marvel movie in order. During that time, I could have been doing something productive, enhancing my knowledge, or even maintaining my blog, but I didn’t feel like it. I’m at peace and don’t regret any of my choices. However, I am now ready to use my time better, and I can’t think of a better time since Ramadan has just begun. Hopefully, these next 30 days will heal and help me find inner peace.

Ramadan Mubarak to all of my fellow Misunderstood Muslims!

  1. Happy Ramadan to you! Very admirable of you to be a great big sis and inspire your brother to workout. Keep up the good work.

  2. Sounds like you’re making memories that will bring lots of laughs later in life. I lol’d on the part about hiding snacks.

  3. I burst out laughing at peeing as a new hobby. I think it is perfectly okay to be productive and to not do the most and just maintain your sanity during a global pandemic. I’ve done a little of both, some days I’m on 10 and other days I’m hardly hitting a one. I too have been watching a lot of TV. Good stuff and trash stuff alike.
