Y’all, I have always loved the quote from Forest Gump, “life is like a box of chocolate; you never know what you’re going to get.” That’s how I feel about my Elevated Lifestyle; I never know what the day is going to bring and why I will need to indulge in a cannabis product. The standard is for my foot; it is the best solution to reduce my inflammation and, as a result, significantly improve my mobility.
Then, of course, my other reasons are ocular hypertension, PCOS, and anxiety. However, I think I am suffering from PTSD from almost dying. I have delayed reactions, and I am starting to notice the symptoms. Regardless, not every day I feel the effects of all of my conditions, but daily, there are reminders.
Although I have more than enough reasons, medically, on some days, I just want to unwind and shut out the world, enjoying my elevated energy. Here are some of my favorite elevated activities that have helped me discover different aspects of my personality and interests.
Let’s start with Elevated Baking and do it at your own risk, lol. I conduct elevated baking in two ways: either wait for when I start to feel the urge to bake or begin baking immediately, including the preparation and setup. That is always a fun mess, but it’s best to do with recipes you are familiar with or have mastered. Then I like to play edible roulette, and with this, we increase the dosage to something borderline crazy high! However, I have fully prepared and set up everything I need, and it’s a beautiful flow through the recipe. For extra spice and entertainment, I like to try something new and hope the full effect of the edible hits me when I am almost done. Does not always work out that way.
I don’t partake as often as I would like. Still, I love an Elevated Art session, which can be either a deep dive into the artist’s work, where I enjoy hearing their stories and the inspiration behind their pieces or simply admiring their work. Or painting myself; although I am not the best painter, I find it incredibly soothing and therapeutic, just doing something for the love of it all. I haven’t done so yet, but I’m going to try writing poetry while elevated. I have been writing poetry since a child. I drew my inspiration to write my first poem from Phillis Wheatley, so it’s time to dust off my poetry notebook and create art with my words.
Then there’s television and movies; some people love to vibe while playing music and relaxing. My version is a good rerun or an old movie. Laying in bed with my snacks, overanalyzing something when I already know the outcome. I heard it is a trauma response, but it genuinely soothes my nervous system. I call it an Elevated Critic Experience because whatever I am watching, I really give myself some unsolicited opinions, I pause, relate it back to me, and I do that an entire series or movie. I always discover something new each time I watch because my mindset and perspective are constantly growing. I really enjoy watching something I have seen evolve throughout each stage of my life and watching my opinions mature.
Those are a few of my favorite elevated activities; I have many more that I will be sharing throughout the summer! Join the vibe, self-care, and elevations by getting a medical cannabis card; it’s no one’s business how you take care of yourself.
